Important Notes:

• Primer Requirement: Always use an appropriate primer before applying TekPur SP. For single-ply membranes and Plastisol surfaces, TekPrime PVC must be used instead of TekPrime SD.
• Surface Limitations: TekPur SP is not suitable for unsound surfaces, swimming pools with chemically treated water, or fishponds.

Before beginning any project, it’s essential to test a small section of the surface to ensure proper adhesion. Surfaces vary in their composition, and a preliminary test helps confirm a suitable bond. TekPur SP is not recommended for use on continuous areas larger than 200m² without consulting our Technical Team for guidance on larger projects.

Surface Preparation

Proper surface preparation is critical for the success of TekPur SP application. Follow these steps to ensure optimal results:

1. Cleaning: The surface should be thoroughly cleaned using a high-pressure washer or a stiff-bristled broom with soapy water. Remove all contaminants such as grease, oil, wax, dirt, and loose particles.
2. Repair Surface Defects: Treat any cracks, splits, or blisters in the surface before application. Irregular surfaces should be filled with a suitable filler material to create a smooth, even surface.
3. Drying: Ensure all surfaces are completely dry before applying TekPur SP.
4. Priming: Apply TekPrime SD or TekPrime PVC, depending on the surface type and porosity. Make sure the primer is fully dried before proceeding with the next step.
   • For gaps larger than 2mm or in areas subject to movement, fill them using a non-silicone product.
   • When working with OSB3 boards, tape all joints using TekTape Self-Adhesive Butyl Tape, ensuring the tape is centrally aligned on the joints.
5. Recoating: If you are applying more than one coat, ensure that the next coat is applied within 48 hours of the first. If more than 48 hours have passed, reapply the primer to prevent delamination between layers.

Application Process

For the best results with TekPur SP, follow these steps:

1. Mixing: Use a low-speed mixer (no more than 300 RPM) to thoroughly mix the product. Ensure you mix all the way to the bottom of the container without introducing air into the mixture, which could create air bubbles.
2. Detailing and Perimeter Work: Complete any detailing or perimeter work before applying the product to the main areas.
3. Application Tools: TekPur SP can be applied using a short or mid-pile roller, brush, or squeegee, depending on the project’s needs.
4. Coating:
   • Apply one thicker coat at a minimum rate of 2kg per m², or
   • Apply two thinner coats, ensuring the combined application rate reaches 2kg per m².

   If applying a second coat, make sure to do so within 48 hours of the first application. If this window is exceeded, reapply the primer to maintain adhesion.
