TekPur SD (Same Day) Primer is a rapid-curing, single-component polyurethane primer designed for a wide range of substrates. It is effective on both porous and non-porous surfaces and is particularly suited for applications in cooler conditions. The fast cure time allows for overcoating on the same day. TekPur SD is versatile, suitable for use on both dry and wet concrete, and provides a cost-effective solution for sealing fresh or ‘green’ concrete surfaces.

Preparation & Application:
- Surface Preparation:
- Clean the area using a high-pressure washer or a stiff-bristled broom with soapy water to remove grease, oil, wax, and any other contaminants or loose particles.
- Address surface defects such as cracks, splits, and blisters before applying the primer. Fill irregular surfaces with a suitable material.
- Ensure all surfaces are dry before starting the application.
- Substrate Preparation:
- For gaps larger than 2mm or in areas subject to movement, use Soudal Fix-All or a similar non-silicone product.
- When applying to OSB3 boards, tape the joints with TekTape self-adhesive butyl tape, ensuring it is centered on the joints.
- Application:
- Apply TekPur SD using a brush or short pile roller. The product has a working time of approximately 60 minutes.
- Note: Cure times are based on an average temperature of 20°C. Higher temperatures will accelerate curing, while lower temperatures will slow it down.

- Asphalt, Bitumen, and Felt Roofs: Use TekPrime SD
- EPDM Membranes: Use TekPrime SD
- Single Ply Membranes: Use TekPrime PVC
- GRP/Fibreglass Surfaces: Use TekPrime SD
- Gypsum/Cement Boards: Use TekPrime SD
- Concrete Roofs: Use TekPrime SD
- Cement Fibre & Metal Roof Sheets: Use TekPrime SD
- Plastisol Metal: Use TekPrime PVC
- PIR Insulation Boards: Use TekPrime SD
Important Note: Always test a small area of the surface before proceeding with the full application to ensure proper bonding. TekPur SD is not recommended for areas exceeding 200m² in one continuous application. Contact the Technical Team for guidance on larger projects.
Primer Requirement: A primer must be used before application. For Single Ply or Plastisol surfaces, TekPrime PVC should be used instead of the standard TekPrime SD.
Not Suitable For: Unsound surfaces, swimming pools with chemically treated water, or fishponds.
Safety:
- Storage: Store the resin indoors in original, unopened containers in a dry place at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight. Use opened product as soon as possible.
- Protective Gear: Wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling or mixing the product. Clean spills or splashes immediately; once dried, removal requires mechanical means or heat/harsh chemicals.
- Flammability: Contains flammable and volatile solvents. Apply in well-ventilated areas. Avoid smoking or open flames near the application site during curing. Use suitable active carbon filter masks if working in enclosed spaces.
